J and K Ranches specializes in care for land, livestock and facilities. Our goal is to leave everything in better shape than we found it. We strive to improve land and wildlife biodiversity through implementing planned grazing, optimize livestock well-being for investors profit by practicing high quality animal husbandry, and enhance facilities to be more user-friendly by being clean, safe and well-maintained.

We develop and reward people through our commitment to owner and team members personal and professional growth. We provide educational and investment opportunities, both within and outside of our business.

Our Story
Joe and Katie Hatch
Joe grew up in Akron, CO. He attended NJC in Sterling, CO on a rodeo scholarship and studied Animal Science and Ag. Business. Joe has been involved in the cattle industry his whole life. Growing up he helped his dad, Doug, work on various ranches and in different feedlots.

Upon his CSU graduation in 2014, Joe moved to Stoneham, CO to manage the Toedtli Ranch. In 2022, Joe and Katie formed J and K Ranches and now lease multiple ranches, including the Toedtli Ranch.
​
Katie grew up showing and judging livestock through 4-H, which is how she ended up in Sterling attending NJC on a livestock judging scholarship. During her time at NJC she met Joe and the rest is history.
​
Katie has always had a passion for the beef industry. Growing up she always knew she would end up working in the cattle industry.
Doug Hatch
Doug has years of experience managing ranches and feedlots. He is a talented cow-man and one of the hardest working people we know. When he is not hard at work, he loves spending time with his granddaughters, Olivia and Emma.
